BILL CLINTON, UN Special Envoy to Haiti, testified before the U.S. Senate on March 10, 2010:

“It was a mistake. I have to live everyday with the consequences of the loss of capacity to produce a rice crop in Haiti. The country has the best chance in my lifetime to achieve this objective: to build a modern self-sustaining state. But what it means is that we have to think about our roles in a different way, and how we will play them in this reconstruction process.”

HANDS THAT FEED is a  feature-length documentary film that accepts former President Bill Clinton’s challenge, bringing the reality of Haiti’s crisis and recovery to the forefront. HANDS THAT FEED will explore Haiti’s rural collapse, its role in the post-earthquake crisis, and most importantly, the exciting
sustainable agriculture-based recovery movement
offering a new path for the future.

NOUVELLE VIE YOUTH CORPS

The Nouvelle Vie Youth Corps is an example of an organization who’s characters are explored in HANDS THAT FEED. Nouvelle Vie Haiti is recruiting a Youth Corps of 30 dynamic young Haitians who will be trained and paid for two years (akin to the US Peace Corps) to teach sustainable agriculture, trauma relief, and social entrepreneurship techniques to earthquake refugees.

In this period, the Youth Corps will educate 1,000 Haitians. From these students, 100 new Youth Corps members will be recruited, who will in turn train 10,000.
